Trash is usually picked up on Tuesday morning. Please put your trash out on Monday evening after dusk or 6 pm, whichever is earlier.
If one of the major holidays listed below falls on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, trash pickup in Countryside Meadows will be on Wednesday.

Our contracted service with Groot Industries is for collection of household refuse. Residents are allowed to use garbage cans or bags that are not larger than 32 gallons and do not weigh more than 45 pounds each. If you have large items to dispose of (e.g. a sofa or a mattress) you can dispose of such items free of charge during the City of Countryside Spring Cleanup in May, or you can arrange for a special pickup at your expense by contacting Groot (708-485-0900)
Recycling service is also provided. All recyclables may be mixed together in one container, no sorting is needed. Do Not put your recyclables in plastic bags. For a list of recyclable items and more information on disposal of large items and special pickups please see the Groot website:

Effective January 1, 2012 electronic waste is no longer permitted to be disposed of at area landfills and must be separated from your normal waste stream. Electronic waste may not be placed in refuse or recycling containers. Examples are computers, monitors, TVs. printers and cell phones.
